The reason for blackening of wires and cables is simply summarized as "water ingress, moisture ingress and air intrusion of wires and cables". During production, transportation, storage and laying, wires and cables are exposed to wet environment or rainwater invades the cable conductor, which makes the copper conductor react with oxygen and water and become black, which is one of the main reasons for the blackening of wires and cables. Therefore, our wires and cables should be waterproof, moisture-proof and air-proof.
Also pay attention to some technical operations, otherwise the copper wires of wires and cables will also be black. In the process of laying and installation, when cutting wires and cables, the joints of wires and cables are not sealed or improperly handled, which will also lead to water ingress and oxidation of wires and cables, resulting in black copper wire joints of wires and cables.
In addition, if the cable joint used is unqualified or made in a humid environment, such as directly buried or in the cable joint in the exhaust pipe, the joint will enter water or be mixed with water vapor, and it will become black after a long time of use
