Why is the circuit current not using the ground wire and using the neutral wire, and the ground wire using the leakage current using the neutral wire? This is a frequently asked question, and one that a novice electrician would ask. Let's take a look at Huaqiang Cable:
Because the wiring positions of the neutral wire and the ground wire on the electrical appliance are different. The neutral wire is a working wire and will naturally be connected to electrical equipment. As a protective wire, the ground wire is directly connected to the electrical enclosure.
This way, under normal conditions, the operating current is always in the circuit - that is, the electrical equipment, of course, the current through the neutral. When a circuit leaks, it results in current leakage (otherwise how is it called leakage). Leaked current flows through the electrical enclosure, so it flows through the ground wire that is connected to the enclosure (if there was no ground wire, the current would flow through the human body, causing an electric shock to the human body).
Then, why the normal working current does not use the ground wire, and the leakage current does not use the neutral wire - just like we touch a wire by ourselves. Of course, if someone's wires have electricity, they'll get electrocuted; wires that don't have electricity won't get electrocuted.
The principle of ground and neutral.
In the TN-S system:
Neutral: The generator has a three-phase winding. The space angle between the three phases is 120°. Their included angle is called the neutral point. In order to prevent the displacement of the neutral point, the line drawn after the grounding is called the neutral line (or neutral line) - in an ungrounded TN-C system, the line drawn from the neutral point can only be called the neutral line, while Can't be called a zero line.
Ground wire: There is only one grounding body, and this grounding body is not connected to any equipment on the transformer (generator). A line drawn from this ground body is called the ground wire.
Both the ground wire and the neutral wire are grounded, so they are all 0 potential. But in addition to grounding, the neutral line is also connected to the neutral point of the transformer, so it can be used as a working line. The ground wire is only a grounding body, so it can only be used as a protection wire.
